The world's first drone highway will appear in the UK
The world's first highway for drones , the Skyway, will open in the UK from June to July. It will allow unmanned aerial vehicles to carry out rapid transportation throughout the country. However, critics fear the privacy and safety of residents will be compromised.

The UK is preparing to open the world's first drone superhighway, which will start operating from June to July. This will allow drones to carry out rapid transport throughout the country. The Skyway network, developed by software company Altitude Angel, will stretch 265km, connecting Coventry in the Midlands and Milton Keynes in the south east.
However, critics have concerns that such a drone route could pose a threat to the privacy and safety of UK residents living along the route. Chris Cole, director of the Drone Wars campaign, told MailOnline: "While the drone industry is incredibly happy about this, for the people who live under the drones it may well be a very annoying fact."
Once completed, the superhighway will consist of 30 “boom towers” that will control drones from the ground. They will create a virtual highway that ensures the safe movement of unmanned aerial vehicles without the participation of a pilot. Each ground tower will act as a "human observer", allowing control of drones within a 4 km radius. For long-distance flights, drones will be “handed off” from one tower to another throughout the superhighway network.
