Microsoft is using images of generated people to promote Windows 11 features.

It's no surprise, as Microsoft is taking every opportunity to educate the average Windows user about Copilot, despite online criticism of its AI.

Microsoft is using images of generated people to promote Windows 11 features.

Today, Microsoft's market capitalization is around $3 trillion. The company can afford to hire celebrities to promote its products, but even so, the software giant is embracing AI. While Windows 11 is facing criticism for its excessive use of artificial intelligence, Microsoft is using Copilot to create "creative" images featuring people to showcase the capabilities of its operating system.

Microsoft has a dedicated section on its support website called "Windows Help & Learning," where the company publishes numerous articles and tutorials on various Windows 11 features. Around the end of 2025, Microsoft began experimenting with using AI-generated images in articles. This was highlighted by Windows Latest.

The title images or previews in these publications are not AI-generated, at least the company doesn't mention this in the descriptions below them. However, the articles themselves use AI-generated images.

The caption under the images, "Art created with Copilot," is clearly an advertisement for Copilot. Apparently, Microsoft decided that the best way to promote Windows features is by showcasing the capabilities of artificial intelligence. However, the images contain obvious errors, such as the Windows 11 widgets looking completely different, and the Edge browser icon being drawn completely incorrectly.
