Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 Notepad will receive image support.

Some time ago, online publications reported that the developers of the Windows 11 operating system intended to add image support to Notepad. This information has now been confirmed by journalists from the Windows Latest resource.

In one of the emails, the publication's authors found a screenshot with a button for inserting images. Sources at Microsoft have already confirmed that work on the new feature has been underway for the past several months. However, it remains unclear when the feature will be included in the stable version of the app.

Many users, accustomed to Notepad as the most basic text editor in the Windows operating system, have already expressed strong opinions about this latest innovation. While these statements are fair, Microsoft intends to fill the gap left by the complete removal of WordPad.

As with other formatting features, Microsoft has assured that image support in Notepad will not consume too many system resources, so users will notice little or no performance impact.
