The Google Phone app will have a button to identify unknown callers

Google is developing a Search option that will allow users to find the owner of an unknown number directly from the recent calls screen.

A search button has been spotted in the beta version of the Google Phone app. When you click on it, a page in the Google system opens with the number already entered.

Even though Google Phone is standard on Pixel phones, other Android users can also install it. A new Search button appears along with other options like blocking and call history when you tap on a recent call.

It is worth noting that the option is intended to identify calls from companies whose data is in the Google database, and not from individuals. So, “Search” cannot replace Truecaller or Getcontact. However, perhaps in the future Google will add integration capabilities with similar applications.
