Capcom announced that sales of Resident Evil Requiem, which was released on February 27, 2026, have exceeded 5 million copies worldwide.
Resident Evil Requiem is the latest installment in the Resident Evil series, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this month. The game evolves the survival horror genre, combining tense dread and gripping action. Developed using the company's proprietary RE ENGINE engine, it achieved photorealistic graphics that meticulously render skin textures, tears, character hair, and the play of light. To appeal to a wide audience, the game features multiple difficulty levels suitable for both novice and experienced players, as well as the ability to switch between first- and third-person perspectives in real time.
Even before its release, the project received high acclaim from the international community. At the major European exhibition, Gamescom 2025, the game won four awards, including "Most Epic," awarded for the most immersive gaming experience. Capcom reaffirms its commitment to creating high-quality entertainment, meeting the expectations of players worldwide.
The Resident Evil series, which debuted in 1996, remains the company's flagship title and enjoys the unwavering support of a devoted fan base. As of December 31, 2025, cumulative sales of the series' games have exceeded 183 million copies.
