Microsoft Introduces AI Assistant to Manage Windows 11 Settings
Microsoft has announced a new feature in Windows 11 - a built-in AI agent that will allow users to change system settings using text commands.

Microsoft has announced the introduction of new artificial intelligence capabilities in Windows 11, allowing AI to manage the computer's system settings. According to the company's blog, users will soon be able to configure the system using a local AI agent that will process text requests. For example, it will be possible to change the size of the mouse cursor or activate voice control with a simple command. The AI will analyze the request, suggest options for action and, with the user's consent, perform them automatically.
“We decided to solve one of the most common problems we hear about — finding and changing settings on your PC — with agents. An agent uses on-device AI to understand your intent and, with your permission, automate and perform tasks. With this settings update, you can simply describe what you need help with, like ‘how do I control my PC with my voice’ or ‘my mouse pointer is too small’, and the agent will recommend the right steps you can take to resolve the issue. With your permission and at your initiative, it can even perform actions to change your settings on your behalf,” the company said.
The innovation was a response to requests from users who wanted to see more intuitive system configuration tools. The feature will first be available to Windows Insider program participants with Copilot+PC devices on Snapdragon processors, and later support will be extended to computers with AMD and Intel chips. For now, the AI agent only understands English. Microsoft does not specify which OS settings can be changed using AI.
