Elon Musk Unveils New Messenger XChat
Elon Musk presented a new messenger: XChat provides encryption of messages, their deletion after reading and the ability to transfer any files. The application also allows you to make audio and video calls without being tied to a phone number.

Elon Musk's X company has launched a beta version of its own messenger XChat, taking an important step towards creating a universal platform that combines social networks, payments and communications. The new messenger is conceived as an analogue of Telegram with an emphasis on privacy and modern functionality. Users already have access to text messages, file transfers, read marks and disappearing messages. The developers emphasize the intuitiveness of the interface, which should be understandable even for beginners.
The idea of a secure messenger was discussed by Musk two years ago, insisting on the need for an independent communications platform with maximum data protection. Now this project has been implemented as part of the strategy to expand the X ecosystem. Analysts consider XChat a potential competitor to Telegram, especially if it can be deeply integrated with other X services, payment tools, and AI developments. This could make the messenger a key hub for millions of users, especially in the US, where Telegram does not yet dominate.
Earlier, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the imminent implementation of Elon Musk's Grok chatbot in the Telegram messenger, but Musk said that an agreement between his AI company xAI and Telegram has not yet been concluded.
