Adobe began acquiring video footage to develop its text-to-video generator. The company offers its network of creators rewards of up to $120 for submitting videos. The goal of the initiative is to collect materials for training artificial intelligence systems.

Over the past year, Adobe has been integrating AI features into its software products, including Photoshop and Illustrator. However, the unveiling of Sora's video generation model raised concerns that the new technology could threaten Adobe's creative software business. In response, the company announced that it was working on its own video generation technology.

Adobe plans to acquire more than 100 short videos of people performing everyday actions, such as walking, or expressing emotions, including joy and anger. In addition, queries are created on videos of anatomical details such as feet, hands or eyes.

The company is also interested in footage of people interacting with various objects, such as smartphones or exercise equipment. Per minute of such videos, the authors are paid from $2.62 to $7.25.

Adobe aimed to train its models on a vast library of standard materials commonly used by marketers and creative agencies. However, now there is not enough of it, so the company is forced to purchase videos from the authors.
