Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has announced its first 3-nanometer chip, Xring O1. The new product has already been integrated into the company's flagship devices, and investments in the project have exceeded $1.8 billion, Xinhua reports .

Xiaomi Unveils Its First 3nm Chip Xring O1

Chinese company Xiaomi presented its first 3-nanometer mobile chip Xring O1 of its own design. The presentation took place in Beijing, where the company's founder Lei Jun announced the new product.

The chip is equipped with a 10-core processor and a 16-core graphics accelerator, which significantly improves the performance of devices. Experts call Xring O1 a major breakthrough for Xiaomi in the field of chip development. Mass production has already begun, and the chip is installed in the new flagships - the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet.

Xiaomi's R&D on the Xring O1 chip has been going on for ten years. Since 2021, the company has invested more than 13 billion yuan (about 1.8 billion US dollars) in the project, employing a development team of more than 2,500 people.

Xiaomi plans to invest 200 billion yuan in key technology research and development over the next five years, including operating systems, artificial intelligence and chips, Lei said.
