Rockstar Games has delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto VI to fall 2026.

Rockstar Games has officially announced the postponement of the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. According to the updated development schedule, the project will be released on November 19, 2026. The announcement was published by the studio on its official social media accounts.

"We apologize for the delay in an already long wait, but these additional months will allow us to finish the game to the level of polish you expect and deserve," the developer said in a statement.

As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto VI's development was officially announced in 2022, but no specific release date was given at the time. The game's title and 2025 release date were revealed in the first trailer in December 2023. In May 2024, parent company Take-Two Interactive confirmed its intention to release the game in fiscal year 2025.

The postponement decision had an immediate impact on the market. Take-Two Interactive shares fell by approximately 10%. Their stock subsequently began to partially recover, but the incident nonetheless dealt a significant blow to the company's reputation.
