Elon Musk continues his wave of layoffs amid falling Tesla sales.

Reduction of top managers

Elon Musk fired two top managers of Tesla. Rebecca Tinucci was senior director of the electric vehicle supercharger division, and Daniel Ho was head of the new vehicles program.

Musk also plans to fire everyone who worked for them, including about 500 employees who work at Superchargers. Tesla's public policy team, led by former chief executive Rohan Patel, will also be disbanded.

“I hope these actions send the message that we need to be absolutely tough on headcount and cost cutting. While some leaders are taking this seriously, most are not yet.”

Patel and battery development chief Drew Baglino left voluntarily this month.

Dismissal of marketing department employees

Elon Musk also cut the newly formed Tesla marketing department. The reason for the layoffs was the company's ineffective advertising.

"This is true. Tesla advertising was too ordinary and simple. Based on its description, one could think of any other car.”

The American team consisted of 40 employees under the leadership of senior manager Alex Ingram. The company has only a small European division left.

With company-wide layoffs, Elon Musk is battling falling Tesla sales and an intensifying price war.
