Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
Microsoft has officially notified users that support for the Windows 10 operating system will end on October 14, 2025. After this date, the system will no longer receive security updates.

Microsoft has notified Windows 10 users that support for the system is approaching its end. "On October 14, 2025, Windows 10 version 22H2 (Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions) will reach end of service. October 14, 2025, will also mark the end of support for Windows 10 2015 LTSB and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2015 LTSB. The October 2025 monthly security update will be the last update available for these versions. After this date, devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security updates or previews containing protection from the latest security threats," the company said.
The company offers several options: upgrading to Windows 11, using the Windows 365 cloud service, or signing up for the paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. ESU costs $30 per year for consumers and $61 for businesses. However, individual users can receive updates for free for an additional year through the Microsoft Rewards program or by activating the Windows Backup feature. This requires consent to data synchronization via a Microsoft account.
Specialized long-term support versions, such as Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and 2019, will be supported longer—until 2027 and 2029, respectively. Detailed support dates for all editions can be found through the Lifecycle Policy service.
