Kaspersky Lab experts have found that 7% of users whose accounts on popular services such as Netflix, Roblox, and Discord were stolen used corporate email to register. The study showed that work accounts are also often used to create profiles on marketplaces, social networks, and even gaming platforms. This creates serious risks for corporate security, as a data leak can lead to the compromise of not only personal but also work accounts.

Experts warn that using corporate email for personal purposes is dangerous. It can lead to losing access to accounts when changing jobs, as well as leaking confidential company information. Even using simple or repeated passwords increases the risk of hacking.

"Using corporate email to register on external services for personal purposes is a very dangerous practice. Firstly, the user may lose access to the account if they change jobs. Secondly, data leakage may create difficulties not only for them, but also for the company. Even if the user sets different but similar passwords in several services, for example, repeats the combination 2025, this increases the likelihood of compromising all credentials, including corporate ones."
