Perplexity now has a language learning feature

At the end of last week, Perplexity managed to send the stock market soaring, Duolingo shares falling 4.5%. This is all because the neural network, which is gaining popularity in Russia, added a language coaching AI feature. According to the developers, it can not only coach you on dialogues but also check your grammar and speech assignments. Moreover, the free version allows you to hone your skills, not just scratch the surface.

Perplexity now has a language learning feature

Kirill Pshinnik, co-founder and CEO of Zerocoder University, believes Perplexity demonstrates how sound management and strategic vision can enable competitiveness with AI giants. The team isn't boasting about new models in X, but is focusing on dynamic development: an AI browser, tools for Perplexity Labs researchers, and now linguistic features.

"For example, our lawyer and product owner for the industrial engineering course prefers Perplexity Pro over corporate ChatGPT, and the number of such users is growing," notes Pshinnik.

The AI coach can already create a personalized learning track based on your language proficiency, conduct voice dialogues, provide grammar feedback, explain rules, and check homework. For users affected by Duolingo's exit from Russia and the loss of subscriptions, Perplexity offers similar functionality.

The free plan allows for approximately five queries every four hours—enough for trial and basic training. The Pro version allows for up to 300 queries per day, along with advanced GPT-5 and Claude models, deep analytics, and content generation. According to the developers, 145 popular languages can be trained. The technology is already available in the iOS app and web version. Android users are promised access soon.

"I'd like to believe that the future lies in comprehensive AI ecosystems that combine functions into a single product, adapt to the user, and eliminate the need to pay for each individual module," the expert adds.
