Neuralink plans to implant chips in 20,000 patients annually

Elon Musk's brain implant company Neuralink Corp. plans to implant its chips in 20,000 people annually by 2031, which will bring it at least $1 billion in revenue per year. This will speed up developments in the field of disease treatment and open up unprecedented access to the human mind, Bloomberg reports. According to a presentation for investors, Neuralink will open about five large clinics in the next six years, where three versions of the device will be available: Telepathy for connecting the brain with machines, Blindsight for restoring vision in the blind, and Deep for treating tremors and Parkinson's disease. Previously, financial forecasts and data on work with patients were not disclosed. Representatives of the company have not yet commented on this information.

There are currently fewer than 10 people in Neuralink’s clinical trials, and no patients have used the chips to restore vision or treat Parkinson’s. But the company’s plans are ambitious: By 2029, it hopes to receive U.S. regulatory approval for Telepathy, perform 2,000 surgeries a year, and earn $100 million. By 2030, Neuralink aims to launch Blindsight, scale up to 10,000 surgeries a year, and earn more than $500 million.

According to PitchBook, Neuralink has already raised $1.3 billion in funding and is valued at $9 billion.

At SPIEF 2025, Sensor-tech, a Skolkovo resident, presented an analogue of Neuralink’s Blindsight neuroimplant — ELVIS V.
