Microsoft will release Office 2024 in April, which works without a subscription and the Internet.

Microsoft has revealed some details about the upcoming release of Office 2024. A version will be released in April as part of the LTSC long-term service program. And later this year, the standard version of Office 2024 will appear. It will be released along with the Windows 11 LTSC operating system.

In the announcement, Microsoft emphasizes that support for the new software package will be provided for five years. At the same time, it is possible to purchase a perpetual license with a one-time payment without the Microsoft 365 subscription service, which the company is actively promoting.

The Office 2024 LTSC version is intended for those clients who do not have constant access to the Internet and primarily value stability. Microsoft announced that Excel will have dozens of new features, as well as improvements to some tools in Outlook.

However, a number of features related to network access will be removed. In particular, there are no plans to support artificial intelligence in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as collaboration mode and some cloud services. The package will not include Microsoft Publisher, which the company will abandon completely in 2026.

The cost of the standard version of Office 2024 will remain at the same level as Office 2021. But the price of the LTSC version, aimed primarily at enterprise customers, will increase by about ten percent.

The announcement also says that the new Office will work on Windows 10, Windows 11 and MacOS. The software package will be supplied in both 32- and 64-bit versions.
