Intel has found the cause of unstable operation of 13th and 14th generation processors

"We have determined that increased operating voltage is causing instability on some 13th and 14th generation desktop processors. Analysis of returned processors confirms that it is related to a microcode algorithm that causes incorrect voltage requests to the processor."

Thomas Hannaford, Intel employee

Intel is currently thinking about how to fix the microcode for motherboard manufacturers. The company is planning to release a patch in August. The company's specialists recommend that all users who have experienced problems contact Intel support.

The chipmaker began working on studying the problem in April 2024. The reason was complaints from Intel Core i9-13900K and i9-14900K users about problems with game crashes.
