Hackers gained access to confidential data from Apple and Nvidia

The Chinese company Luxshare, a key assembler of Apple products, has allegedly suffered a major cyberattack. The ransomware group RansomHub claims to have stolen confidential data from Apple, Nvidia, and other tech giants, threatening to release the information unless ransom is paid.

According to Cybernews researchers, the leak may have included highly sensitive data, including 3D CAD models, printed circuit board designs, technical documentation, and design files spanning the period from 2019 to 2025. Personal data of employees and details of confidential joint projects, such as device repair, may also have been compromised.

The attackers claim to have encrypted the data on December 15, 2025, and Luxshare claims to be covering up the incident. The consequences of such a leak could be widespread: competitors could potentially reverse-engineer products, create counterfeits, or discover hardware vulnerabilities. This poses significant risks to the security of supply chains and the intellectual property of the companies involved.

The RansomHub group, active since 2024, is known for attacks on the industrial and medical sectors. Luxshare, whose factories assemble iPhones, AirPods, and other Apple products, is a vital link in the global tech supply chain. Luxshare and Apple have not provided official comments.
