Google will launch an AI-powered photo editor for iPhone and Android
Google will launch an AI-powered photo editor for iPhone and Android via Google Photos. Its AI features include Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light.

Google has announced free access to a range of generative AI photo editing tools for all Google Photos users.
Starting May 15, the company will provide access to the AI-powered photo editor, which until now was available exclusively on Pixel smartphones and with a Google One subscription.
Among the AI functions announced are:
- Magic Eraser, which removes unwanted objects from photos;
- Photo Unblur, which brings unselected images into sharpness;
- Portrait Light, which allows you to balance the lighting in your photo.
To use the photo editor, desktop owners must have a Chromebook Plus running Chrome OS 118+ and have more than 3GB of storage, while smartphones and tablets must be running Android 8.0 or iOS 15 or later.
As part of the launch, Google will also give all device owners access to the Magic Editor feature. According to the announcement, users on Android and iOS will receive up to 10 free photo downloads per month. And Pixel device users and Google One subscribers who pay for 2TB of storage will have unlimited saves.
The Magic Editor tool, introduced with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro last year, uses generative AI to make adjustments to photos, including moving objects, removing objects, or changing the color of the sky, while creating new images to fill in the gaps.
