AMD introduced AI chips for laptops and desktops
AMD announced chips with AI support . The latest Ryzen PRO 8040 series is designed for laptops and mobile workstations, while AMD's Ryzen PRO 8000 series is designed for business users.

On Tuesday, AMD announced the release of a new line of semiconductor devices for laptops and desktop PCs equipped with artificial intelligence functions. The move is part of the company's strategy to increase its presence in the lucrative AI PC market.
The new chips are expected to appear in HP and Lenovo products starting in the second quarter of 2024.
AI-enabled PCs are capable of processing multi-language models and running AI-powered applications directly on the device, bypassing the cloud.
AMD says its latest Ryzen PRO 8040 lineup is aimed at laptops and mobile workstations, while the AMD Ryzen PRO 8000 lineup is aimed at business users.
With the advent of artificial intelligence technologies, the demand for advanced semiconductors that can be used to build and run complex AI programs has increased significantly. In the AI PC market, AMD competes with giants such as Intel and Nvidia, which is a recognized leader in the field of graphics processing units (GPUs).
In January, AMD introduced the Ryzen 8000G series desktop chips, which are specifically designed to handle heavy workloads associated with AI-based workloads.
On the same day, Nvidia announced its own AI PC chips, the GeForce RTX SUPER GPUs. The company said Acer, ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo and Samsung will release AI laptops equipped with its technology.
Intel also announced plans to ship about 40 million computers with artificial intelligence in 2024.
