Amazon has introduced a new feature for Amazon Q, its artificial intelligence assistant. Amazon Q Apps allows users to quickly and easily build generative AI-powered apps using company data. The tool does not require any programming experience.

The new feature can be tested as a preview as it is a publicly available assistant for software development, cloud optimization, and business intelligence. Amazon charges users $20 per month for Amazon Q Business and $19 per month for Amazon Q Developer.

The company is competing with tech giants including Microsoft, OpenAI and Google to bring new artificial intelligence capabilities to businesses and software developers.

“When we launched AWS, we looked at the undesirable situation of developers spending 70% of their time on undifferentiated infrastructure management drudgery (compared to only 30% on what differentiates their customer experience) and sought to flip that equation on its head. head."

Andy Jassy, CEO, Amazon Web Services

The announcement is part of Amazon's recent trend of announcing new AI features right before its quarterly earnings report. The company previously unveiled a new AI shopping assistant ahead of its 2023 fourth-quarter earnings report.
