YouTube's new AI feature will let you skip boring parts of videos
YouTube is experimenting with an AI feature called Jump Ahead , which allows users to automatically jump to the best parts of a video. A premium subscription is required to activate it.

YouTube is testing a new feature based on artificial intelligence. Jump Ahead will allow viewers to skip the boring parts of the video.
A spokesperson from YouTube's tech team said: "We're launching a small experiment in the US to create a premium feature that combines user behavior data with artificial intelligence to identify the next most interesting point in a video that a viewer would like to skip to."
Most YouTube users are already familiar with the double-tap feature to skip part of a video. It moves forward 10 seconds. Each subsequent quick press decreases the viewing time until the user reaches the desired point in the video.
The new Jump Ahead feature works similarly, but uses user viewing data analysis and machine learning to automatically identify the most interesting moments in a video. Depending on where the user is on the video timeline, once the feature is activated, they will be moved to the next most interesting moment.
YouTube has clarified that the feature will only be available for certain videos, although it has not specified what content will be considered eligible. To use Jump Ahead, users will need a premium subscription.
