Xiaomi Presented Three Electric Motors: They will appear in production Cars in 2025

On December 28, the information publication IT House reported that Xiaomi, at the Automotive Technology Conference, officially presented three electric motors that will be installed in the Chinese giant’s electric vehicles in the foreseeable future. The flagship of the line is the Xiaomi V8 motor, the main advantage of which is the stated parameter of 27,200 rpm - this is the first motor in the world capable of demonstrating such a rotation speed (for example, on average, a gasoline engine can provide up to 6,000 rpm).
Also, this electric motor, according to company representatives, produces 578 horsepower with a peak power of 425 kW with a maximum torque of 635 Nm and an efficiency of 98.11%. Interestingly, the manufacturer announced a specific motor power of 10.14 kW/kg - this is almost twice as high as that of the motor of the new (and one of the fastest in the world) Model S Plaid electric car. The first production vehicles to be produced based on this engine will go on sale in 2025. But Xiaomi also has more affordable solutions, which still turned out to be better than potential competitors in a number of technical characteristics.
We are talking about V6 and V6s engines, which demonstrate 299 and 374 horsepower, respectively. The manufacturer noted that the new products received their names in honor of six-cylinder engines, because they can be compared with Xiaomi electric motors in terms of power. And, probably, it will be easier for a potential car buyer to understand the characteristics of an electric car when V6 and V8 are indicated there. It is worth noting that the V6 turned out to be almost two times weaker than the V8 (220 kW of power versus 425 kW of the flagship), which is why one might assume that the “six” will be used in quieter urban crossovers, but in reality this is not the case .
As part of the presentation, company representatives showed a slide on which the new V6 and V6s engines were compared with the Tesla Model S Plaid and Porsche Taycan Turbo - the Chinese new products turned out to be better than the top electric cars in the world. For example, in terms of the number of revolutions per minute, the V6s turned out to be more powerful than the engine from Elon Musk’s company, plus it has higher torque. So we can expect not only boring family sedans on this platform - the company may well produce powerful electric cars even with the most basic engine.
