Trojan threats remain the main danger for Windows users
PRO32 analysts recorded an increase in the number of cyberattacks on the Windows platform in Q3 2024. Trojan programs still pose the greatest threat, their share amounted to 89%.

According to PRO32, in Q3 there were 5% more virus attacks recorded compared to the previous period. Trojan programs that can disguise themselves as legitimate applications and collect confidential information were the cause of 89% of attacks.
"Kazakhstan continues to be among the leaders in the number of cyberattacks, while Russian cities also face threats: in Moscow, the number of attacks increased by 3%, and in Nizhny Novgorod - by 5%. This highlights the need for strict adherence to security measures on the Internet."

Network attacks are second most common (6%), followed by ransomware attacks (3%). Adware and other unwanted programs account for about 1% of total detections.
Astana was the leader in the number of detected threats (46%), followed by Almaty (29%).
The TOP-5 cities with the largest number of attacks also included Moscow (11%), Nizhny Novgorod (6%) and St. Petersburg (2%).
Earlier, Komputerra reported that due to the increase in the number of cyberattacks, users began to buy antivirus programs twice as often.
