Google Photos will get a meme-generating feature.
A new feature called Me Meme has been discovered in the Google Photos app. It allows users to create memes using their own photos and those of their friends.
Google continues to develop its Google Photos app, adding new AI-powered features. Following the recent introduction of the Nano Banana image generator and the ability to create videos from photos, the company has begun working on a new tool: a meme generator featuring the user themselves.
The updated version 7.51.0 of the app contains references to the "Me Meme" feature. It allows you to transform your photos, as well as those of friends and family, into popular memes. The process involves choosing a meme template and a source image from your gallery, after which a personalized version is created, which can be shared via messaging apps or social media.
For this feature to work properly, the original photo must be backed up in Google Photos. The app recommends using clear selfies with your face clearly visible. Me Meme is not yet activated, and the details of its implementation remain unknown. Only one template has been confirmed so far: the "Everything is Fine" meme featuring a burning room. There is no information about the ability to upload custom templates.
