Dreame introduces a smartphone with a detachable camera
Dreame, which previously announced its entry into the smartphone market, unveiled an engineering prototype of the AURORA NEX LS1. The device's key feature is a fully autonomous, removable unit with flagship cameras that attaches magnetically to the body.
The module features a 1-inch main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens with a 115mm focal length, matching the specifications of advanced compact cameras. The module has its own battery and connects to the smartphone body magnetically, eliminating the need for cables or connectors.
The current prototype phone's body has no built-in cameras—all photography functions are handled by a detachable unit. According to the company, production versions will feature an additional lens for everyday tasks such as scanning documents or barcodes.
The main design idea is to maintain a slim device body without sacrificing sensor size. By placing the main photo module in a separate unit, the camera protrusion on the rear panel is eliminated.
Currently, the device exists only as a prototype. Information on its exact specifications, price, and market launch date is unknown.
