Apple is developing an artificial intelligence chip for data centers

Apple, known for its success in developing semiconductors for its iPhone, iPad and Mac, has taken on an ambitious new project. Within the company, it is codenamed Project ACDC.

The company aims to develop its own server chip optimized for performing artificial intelligence tasks in data centers.

Unlike Nvidia's chips, which are primarily used for training AI models, Apple's new chip will be optimized to perform inference on already trained models. This will allow you to effectively launch various AI services.

Amid growing competition in the AI space, Apple CEO Tim Cook has made it clear that the company plans to introduce many new features based on artificial intelligence technologies.

Although Apple is working closely with Taiwanese manufacturer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, the exact release date for the new AI chip has not yet been disclosed.
