Apple warns iPhone users about spyware attack
Apple warned users in 92 countries that they could be the target of spyware. The company also updated its iPhone support document to include information about how threat notifications work and tips for those who may have been victimized.

Apple has issued a warning to users in 92 countries about possible spyware attacks. However, the company did not indicate which groups may be behind these attacks, and did not disclose the list of countries where users were warned.
The email, sent on April 10, reads: “Apple has discovered that you are under attack by mercenary spyware that is attempting to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID - xxx.”
The company recommends that users who receive a notification about the threat turn on lock mode on their iPhone. It limits spyware attacks by disabling certain features. It is also recommended to update your devices to iOS 17.4.1 and seek professional help.
Additionally, Apple has updated its iPhone support document to include information about how threat notifications work and tips for users who may have been victims of spyware. When the company detects malware activity, it sends notifications via email and iMessage. Users who sign in to the Apple ID site will also see a threat notification banner at the top of the page.
