Google unveiled a faster version of the Gemini 3 Flash chatbot.

According to the developer, the Gemini 3 Flash outperforms the previous version, the Gemini 2.5 Flash, in various tests, and even outperforms the Gemini 2.5 Pro in a number of tasks, while remaining significantly faster and more power-efficient. In some tests, particularly in the areas of multimodal logic, workflow execution, and tool usage, the new model demonstrates results on par with or even better than the Gemini 3 Pro.

For developers, this means expanded support for demanding scenarios such as video analysis, data mining, visual question answering, and agent-based applications. The model is optimized for large-scale deployment and real-time operation due to its reduced computing requirements.

The Gemini 3 Flash is now the default model in the Gemini app, replacing the Gemini 2.5 Flash. Users have access to two operating modes: one for quick answers and one for solving complex problems. A separate Gemini 3 Pro version for advanced computing and programming remains available. The new model will also become the primary engine for Google's global AI search, enabling it to handle more complex queries.
