airdrop: secrets of sending photos and videos without losing quality.
AirDrop is a convenient tool for quickly transferring files between Apple devices. However, did you know that it can compress photos and videos, reducing their quality? In this post, I will tell you how to send photos and videos via AirDrop in the original format, keeping all the details.
Step 1: Select a photo or video
Open the Photos app and select the photo or video you want to share.
Step 2: Click "Share"
In the upper right corner, click the "Share" button.
Step 3: Open Settings
In the "Share" menu that opens, click on the "..." icon in the upper right corner.
Step 4: Configure sending options
From the Options menu, select:
— "Current": for sending RAW files (uncompressed).
— “Individual photos”: for sending HEIC files (with HDR preservation).
— “All image data”: for JPEG files (with EXIF data saved).
Important:
— For RAW files: not all Apple devices support the RAW format. Make sure the recipient can open the file.
- For HEIC files: HEIC is a newer format than JPEG and provides better image quality in a smaller file size. However, some devices do not support HEIC. In this case, select "Individual photo" to send the photo in JPEG format.
Step 5: Submit the file
Select a recipient from the AirDrop list and click Done.
Now your photos and videos will be sent without losing quality!
